Applications will be accepted until March 1 for federal broadband deployment funding 

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced approval from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) for Virginia's list of over 133,000 eligible locations that will receive high-speed internet access through the Commonwealth's $1.48 billion Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) allocation to connect all Virginians to high-speed, affordable reliable internet.

Funding will support redevelopment projects in port host communities of Newport News, Norfolk and Portsmouth 

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced $2.4 million in Port Host Communities Revitalization Fund awards for the cities of Newport News, Norfolk and Portsmouth. The three grants will support a Seafood Market in Newport News, vital shipyard improvements in Norfolk, and a dual rail transload facility in Portsmouth. 

Appalachian Regional Commission funding to support damage assessments and recovery efforts of recreational areas affected by Hurricane Helene 

Demonstrating a strong commitment to swift recovery by directing an accelerated application process, Governor Glenn Youngkin has recommended $1.3 million in funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to support the Hurricane Helene Outdoor Recreation Recovery Planning Project in Virginia's Appalachian region.

Funding will support the growth of strategic industry sectors and develop talent pipelines 

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $2.5 million in Growth and Opportunity for Virginia (GO Virginia) grant awards for 21 projects focused on creating workforce pipelines for targeted industries and supporting the cultivation of critical industry resources to attract and grow Virginia-based businesses. 

Funding will support job creation and community revitalization through the renovation of derelict infrastructure

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced over $1.8 million in Industrial Revitalization Funds (IRF) for Rockbridge County and the towns of Pamplin and Tazewell. The three awarded projects will create over 25 jobs and leverage an additional $2.5 million in private investment.  

Approval provides access to Virginia's $1.48 billion BEAD allocation to close the digital divide

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced today the release of the federally approved Virginia Initial Proposal Volume 2 that will enable Virginia to access its allocation of $1.48 billion through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program under the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) federal Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act.

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $41 million in grants through the Virginia Telecommunications Initiative (VATI) for 10 broadband construction projects serving 20 localities throughout Virginia. The VATI program provides targeted funding to extend service to areas that are presently unserved by any broadband provider.  

Funding will support new construction and rehabilitation of 877 affordable and special needs housing units

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced today more than $22 million in Affordable and Special Needs Housing loans for 14 projects across the Commonwealth. The recommended projects will create and preserve 877 total units for low-income and extremely low-income households.  

Grants will create jobs, improve infrastructure and support local businesses in Virginia's Appalachian Region

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced that he is recommending 13 projects for funding by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), totaling $7.4 million in grants. ARC will finalize approval of these project awards later this year.

Funding will support creating and expanding small businesses, revitalizing downtown districts and filling vacant storefronts

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced today over $690,000 in Virginia Main Street (VMS) and Community Business Launch (CBL) grants for 16 projects across the Commonwealth. The funded projects will revitalize historic commercial districts and create and expand small businesses.
