Governor Glenn Youngkin announced today more than $2.9 million in Growth and Opportunity for Virginia (GO Virginia) grant awards for eight projects aimed at fostering talent development, economic acceleration and regional industry growth. Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced $1.5 million in Port Host Communities Revitalization Fund awards for the cities of Newport News, Norfolk and Portsmouth in advance of his international trade mission to Taiwan, Japan and South Korea where he will discuss Virginia's expansive and growing port capabilities with key industry leaders. The three grants will redevelop a world-class maritime operations and logistics center in Norfolk, a bulkhead replacement project in Portsmouth and the rehabilitation of a waterfront industrial property in Newport News.

Funding will support rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing and support services to underserved populations in 118 localities

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $12 million in Virginia Housing Trust Fund Homeless Reduction Grants for 68 projects across the Commonwealth. The funding will advance targeted efforts to reduce homelessness for 2,669 individuals and families through 25 permanent supportive housing, 34 rapid rehousing and nine underserved populations innovation projects.

Funding will support new construction and rehabilitation of over 3,936 affordable and special needs housing units

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $93 million in Affordable and Special Needs Housing loans for 57 projects across the Commonwealth. The recommended projects will create and preserve 3,936 total units for low-income and extremely low-income households, including 298 permanent supportive housing, 3,825 rental units and 111 units for sale as homeownership opportunities.

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $2.9 million for the Virginia Eviction Reduction Pilot (VERP) for seven projects throughout the Commonwealth to support eviction prevention services for 48 communities.

"Safe, stable housing is an essential component for strong families," said Governor Glenn Youngkin. "This pilot program tests to find the most effective wrap-around support services and assistance for Virginians that face housing uncertainty."
